Adam Lee Kemp lead singer of Crystavox recently stated in an interview with HM Magazine... "When we heard the original material, each of us agreed that there were immaturities and creative gaps in the presentation that were driving us crazy! Consequently, Loren and Fred went to work adding subtle guitar overtones, revised bass compression and new drum samples. These served to bridge those audio gaps in hopes to make the remix a more palatable project..."

INTENSE MILLENNIUM RECORDS to rerelease FRONTLINE MUSIC Catalog



Intense Millennium Records is a partnership between Divine Metal Distro, Roxx Productions, and two additional individuals Josh Dieckmann and Sandy Scafedi. We have come together under this one umbrella to form a company that is dedicated to releasing fully licensed material from one of the most prolific group of record labels to exist in the Christian Metal scene, the Intense/Frontline/Alarma Records group. This will be the first time that many of these titles will have seen any form of quality release since their original releases back in the 1980s & 1990s.

Our first batch of releases is scheduled for release in November of 2010 and include classic albums from Vengeance Rising, Sacred Warrior and Bloodgood. All of our releases will be completely re-mastered to give these albums the best modern audio quality that is available today. As well each release will have brand new artwork based on the original cover designs, along with 8 page booklets complete with lyrics, and liner notes. When possible bonus material will be added as well.

The first 5 titles that will be released are:

Vengeance - Human Sacrifice


Few albums can claim to have started a musical movement like "Human Sacrifice". While thrash metal had already been well established by 1988, only a handful of bands had attempted to combine such fast, heavy music with lyrics reflecting faith in Christ. None of these bands had released anything more than demos or a couple tracks on compilations until this monster of an album came roaring onto the scene. Fusing fast riffing, driving bass and drums, hyper-speed bluesy lead guitar, and just enough melody to make things more memorable, "Human Sacrifice" did more than just introduce Christianity to the genre - it revolutionized the developing style of "Christian metal" in a way no previous band or album had done. Vengeance Rising raised the stakes and gave fellow thrashers a unique album that set the bar for future releases.

Vengeance Rising - Once Dead


Where Vengeance Rising's debut "Human Sacrifice" stormed onto the scene and created quite a stir, "Once Dead" tightened the thrash attack into a well-oiled machine. While the band's debut was experimental and diverse, "Once Dead" was a snapshot of a band seasoned by touring and songwriting, with a more consistent approach that capitalized on thrash metal's calling card - velocity. Vengeance Rising's second album is rife with fast, thrashy anthems that take their sound to the next level, ramping up the volume, intensity, and energy even more. When other thrash bands were starting to slow down, Vengeance Rising took the opposite approach for maximum effect.

Sacred Warrior - Rebellion


The burgeoning Christian metal movement had several notable bands by the mid 1980's. None, however, took the progressive elements of pioneers like Queensryche and Fates Warning and combined them with the pure energy and heaviness present in much of the thrash metal of the time. Enter Sacred Warrior - a band that skillfully and successfully combined these two elements to create a metallic attack that rivaled many of their contemporaries, and stands the test of time as one of the greats of the era. “Rebellion”, the band’s auspicious debut, capitalizes on that potent mixture by offering up searing riffs, lightning fast solos, soaring vocals, and a rhythm section that thundered with authority.

Bloodgood - Bloodgood


Heavy Metal has been accused by its detractors as all sounding the same. While the mid-80’s saw a glut of metal bands cashing in on the style, many of which sounded the same as the next band, no one could accuse Bloodgood of being a sound-alike. Combining a melodic, classic heavy metal approach with the uniquely operatic vocals of Les Carlson, Bloodgood carved out its own niche in the metal scene by offering up listeners a potent mix of high-pitched vocal wails, melodic yet energetic guitar riffing, a tight rhythm section, and memorable songs that would stay with you for weeks. This powerful blend came shining through on Bloodgood’s self-titled debut album, and quickly set the bar for metal bands wishing to share their faith with the world.

Bloodgood - Detonation


Bloodgood’s second album, “Detonation”, was the perfect follow-up to their high-energy debut, and raised the bar even higher for faith-based metal bands. The fast songs were faster, the emotion in the songs was more intense, and the musical attack was tighter. The lyrics were also stronger, as the band took on some fairly unpopular topics like suicide and homelessness. Truly a landmark album in the scene, this classic contains the duo of songs “Crucify” and “Messiah” that showed what a real metal band could do with such emotionally charged subject matter and pull it off with such ease.

Beginning in January of 2011 we will unleash two classic Frontline titles per month. Roxx Records and the Christian Metal Realm are very excited to announce the details on their long in the works, highly anticipated tribute album celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Southern California Christian Thrash legends Deliverance!

‘Temporary Insanity – A Salute to Deliverance’ is set for release this August and hosts a variety of artists paying tribute to the band, some current, some past and even some special reunions all came together to lay down tracks for the disc! Including current and former members of bands such as The Crucified, Vengeance Rising, Deliverance and Hirax just to name a few. And special reunions from Oil and Eternal Decision all coming together just to contribute tracks for this project!

The MOSHKETEERS

Originally formed in the mid 80"s as a straight ahead heavy metal band and going by the name Rapture, the band released several demos, including "Vacation from Hell" and "Die by the Sword". The band toured with Barren Cross and shared the stage with many bands including Deliverance and Sacred Warrior. The band would eventually change their name in 1989 to the Moshketeers which would coincide with the bands full transition in to the growing thrash metal scene!

The Moshketeers independently releasing 2 cassette tapes including a 4 song demo and a full length release entitled "The Downward Spiral". The band would begin touring and performing shows with many of metal"s finest bands including Testament, Deliverance, The Crucified and Vengeance Rising. The band continued off and on into the 1990s, releasing another cassette demo in 1997 with four new songs that were suppose to be from an upcoming full length album, that was never finished. The band continued to be open shows for many popular bands including P.O.D. and Ultimatum.

Rumors began flying in 1990 that the Moshketeers were signing with a major label. Rumors and speculations as to what happened have been around for years, but suffice it to say that it just never happened and the tapes would never see the light of day and the masters would be locked away for many, many years?until now!

The Moshketeers "The Downward Spiral" will now see a full CD release, for the first time ever! Set to be completely restored and remastered and include several previously unreleased bonus tracks, including the rare 1997 demo.

In 1985, bands like Stryper and Barren Cross were just starting to make their marks on the Christian Metal scene. In the Thrash world bands like Metallica, Slayer and Testament were in their infancy and just about to take the metal world by storm. It was 1985 that also saw the beginnings of an act that would come along and successfully meld these 2 genres together and ultimately leave an everlasting impact on both of these Metal communities, that band was Deliverance!!! Fronted by the very outspoken and charismatic Jimmy P. Brown he would take this band and the Christian Thrash scene to a whole new level.

Fast forward to 2010, and we are very proud to be celebrating 25 years of that successful outfit known as Deliverance. Still recording and playing shows to any place that will host them! If you ask any Christian Metal fan out there to name the most influential Christian Thrash band of old and still in the scene to this day, undoubtedly Deliverance will top the list!

ROXX PRODUCTIONS SIGNS 80’s CHRISTIAN METAL ARTIST CRYSTAVOX!


San Diego, CA.| After 20 years of silence; one of Christian Metal’s loudest bands is back, with a great story and a line of new limited releases in collaboration with Roxx Productions. Crystavox, based out of San Diego, CA., recently met again informally to mark the 20 year anniversary of the bands first record deal (Regency 1989). Discussions progressed, causing the band to research where the original master recordings were located. Crystavox lead guitarist, Tony Lopez, located the master tapes - stored in a warehouse in Burbank, CA. The previous record label; Ocean Records, released the Archived Media back to Crystavox.

“We were finally in possession of all the two-inch masters from both records but after 20 years in storage, we would have to bake the tapes in order to allow them to pass through a tape machine again,” said Lopez. “Convection baking worked and we were able to digitize the tapes in high resolution to the Pro Tools format,” Lopez concluded.

Not only did the band now have control over a remix of such hit songs as “Sacrifice” (#1 PRR 1990), “Home Again” (#3 CCM 1990), and “It’s All Right” (#7 PRR 1990), but also discovered a “never released” live concert and MTV style video. Bringing this dated and worn media back to life fell on the shoulders of drummer, Fred Helm, who had become a director and producer for regional and national televisions shows since his departure from Crystavox.

“Finally getting to load this live show into our production studio was so much fun,” said Helm. “The only copy we had was a 20 year old VHS tape that had been played several times over the years. All the blacks were grey, the color was washed and in 1990, Widescreen TV did not exist. We have corrected the color issues and re-mastered the video in the 16:9 format. These videos; which consist of 4 live songs and 4 MTV-style video productions, will also include a recently recorded, “where are they now” segment - shot in HD, and featuring the band “self narrating” the story of Crystavox.

The band took a shot at remixing the old songs to see if modern technology could add a new edge to the hit songs recorded so long ago - when MP3’s, the internet and non-linear digital recording did not even exist. “The pre mixes were good enough to import a complete Pro Tools HD system into the production studio and take a serious shot at remixing the old songs,” said Crystavox song writer and guitarist Loren Holmquist.

“When I heard the pre-mixes, I was astounded as to the clarity and general lack of over-processed sounds that we had gotten used to,” said Adam Lee Kemp, lead singer for Crystavox. “The 80’s were all about excess; in vocals, layered harmonies, guitars and effects.” “Consequently, I knew that converting those previous concepts into a current format would involve a major overhaul in order to synchronize the delivery with modern music and culture.” “Ultimately, Fred was able to start-from-scratch and re-mix these New Versions using a minimal portion of subtle effects - causing the songs to appear modern, 20 years after they were recorded.” Kemp concluded.

The songs have been totally redone; new guitars, drums and an over-sampling method vastly increasing the mastered volume of each song to today’s standards. The re-discovery of Crystavox in 2010 comes complete with a custom built media website featuring the bands songs and videos.

The new release entitled, “The 20 Year Mix” will include a DVD and the “Best Of” songs released through Roxx Records/Roxx Productions.

“ I realized Crystavox might be in the position to re-release its library which, in its original versions would have done well. Realizing the songs had been remixed and there was a DVD interested Roxx,” said Bill Bafford, President of Roxx Productions. “We are very excited about this limited release and the relationship with Crystavox.”

The release is set for Early Spring 2010 on Roxx Records.

After the break up of Crystavox in early 1992, original members Adam Lee Kemp, Loren Holmquist, Fred Helm and Tony Lopez continued in the production and recording industries recording over 45 releases and 27 television shows.

Roxx Records and Steve Rowe will reissue Mortification's "Break The Curse"


1990 was a year that would forever change and have an impact on the Christian Metal scene. The bonus tracks will consist of another much sought after Mortification release… “Noah Sat Down and Listened to the Mortification Live E.P. While Having A Coffee”. That’s right for the first time since its release, the much sought after EP will be made available for the first time and with this limited quantity of only 1000. If that’s not enough for you 2 more specially added bonus tracks will be included here that have not been made available since their original release… For the first time ever on a Mortification disc the studio version of Time Crusaders! Also the long out of print ‘Eyes of Destruction’ originally recorded by Lightforce and that is only Disc 1!!!!

Disc 2 will be a very special DVD release of a show that has never been released in its entirety! Not just any show, this is the VERY FIRST Mortification live show ever captured live in Melbourne Australia at the Harvest Centre!
